I viewed Ted Talk and watched "Dan Gilbert: The surprising science of happiness". It's about 21 minutes long.

The professor claimed that the happiness can be synthesized.
He shared many experiments he did to convince the audiences that if we have some limited condition, we will be happier.
Finally, the professor concluded that we won't be happy unless our ambition was bounded.

I will focus on key words and guess the meaning to help me realize the speech.

I think my weakness is vocabulary, because I can't fully understand the meaning in the lecture which led me to understand only 60% of the content.

I watched a TED talk "Kevin Allocca: Why videos go viral" three times for about 30 minutes.

Short summary: Kevin Allocca, who is the trends manager at YouTube, argues that popular videos at YouTube contains three elements; tastemakers, community participation, and unexpectedness.
Tastemakers find and share that with a larger audience, and creative community participates by spreading it or by doing something new and unexpected with it.
He thinks that they will change the definition of media and culture in the future.

I listened more than once and search for key words.
I think I understand 70 percent of the article because the speaker used easy words and a lot of movies to explain it, but It was hard for me to catch up with his speed of speech.

I watched 'Philip Zimbardo: The psychology of time' on TED Talk on Internet; it took about 40 minutes for me to listen several times.

    Summary:
In "The psychology of time", Philip Zimbardo insists that people should apply 'time perspective' to arrange their life well. Zimbardo states that most of people are defeated by temptation because they focus on getting small benefit right now, not on great benefit in the future. He adds to it that children who focus on the future can get higher score in tests as a result. He also says, however, to bias our preference too strongly on either present or future is not good. He suggests that it's important to arrange three kinds of 'time perspective'(past, present, future), that is, to use our identity in the past, about ourselves in the present, and challenge in the future for making decision for success.

I listened to this several times.
I understood this about 50% at the first time because the speaker was talking so fast and it was difficult to catch idea itself.

Is this method really effective to what they want? That's really an important question which we should think about.
That may be not really effective to what the politician thinks.
Mark Forsyth tell the thinking of himself in the video.

I try my best to realize the all article. But,I lost lots of part in my first time.I think I only understood the 50% of the video.

I watched Taylor’s YouTube chat which is spoken by Taylor Swift; it was about 25min.

Taylor told us about her new album which is called “RED”, and it will be released worldwide on October 22ed. This album contains 16 songs (but actually she wrote 30 to 35 songs for this album) which are all related with her relationships. She named the album RED that is because of the tumultuous, crazy adventures in love loss that it chronicles. I’m a huge fun of her, so I’m really looking forward to listen it. Also I would like to go to her world tour of this album.

I listened only one time, but I could understand almost 80% of this video, because it was like a casual speaking, not like a formal speaking.

  14. Listening log of Wei Chieh Hung (Daniel)

I watched "Michael Tilson Thomas: Music and emotion through time." at TED. It took about 20 minutes.

I think this movie gave me some advice. Because we can listen to music everyday, so we can find some emotion like happiness, sadness and some ideas. Michael's father had given Michael many ideas in his childhood. I learned that if we follow the melody, we can find many emotion in the music. And I have heard many kinds of music which I haven't heard in this movie. So I have enjoyed when I watched this movie.

I watched this movie only one time. I think that I can understand about 60%. But there are so many new words that I can not understand, if I want to understand about 80% or 90%, I think I need to improve my vocabulary and watch this movie about ten times.

I watched first 20minutes of movie "Enchanted".

This story is about one love. There is a couple in a faily tale. And then, the princess suddenly disappeared and moved to REAL world. Prince also came to present time to save her. However, many of characters disturb them. They met a lot of funny people. Some of them will help princess, but some of them are dangerous. They will face serious situation later in this movie.

It's story as a kind of musical. All of songs in the movie are related to the story, so we can enjoy those songs.

I watched this only one time, but it's comes from Disney. That's why, it's easy one, I think. I could understand 85 persent of this 20mins.
Anyway, this time I could watch only a few minutes, so I'll try to see all of them if I have some time for that.
